On concrete, thickness is the whole point. The Premium is 0.25″ and 38 oz per square yard, our thickest and densest, and it is the one that makes a basement or a converted garage feel like a room rather than a slab.

Choose your size

Match the pad to your rug, not to your floor

Concrete calls for as much cushion as you can get. Your rug decides how much that is.

If the pad has more body than the rug, the rug slides around on the pad. You have moved the problem, not solved it.

So go as thick as your rug can carry, and no thicker.

If your slab ever gets damp

Basement and garage slabs can wick moisture up from the ground, and anything trapped between a slab and a rug will stay there. If yours has ever felt damp or you have seen efflorescence on it, call 1-833-RUG-PADS before you order and we will talk it through. Do not seal a damp slab under a rug and hope.

Why only four pads

We are a rug cleaning company first. Rugs come into our shop with the pad still stuck to the back of them: crumbling foam, adhesive gone to glue, cheap latex turned to orange powder that took the floor finish with it.

That is why we sell four pads and not forty. Felt and rubber, needled and bonded, nothing that breaks down into dust in five years. When a rug comes back to us for its next cleaning, we would rather the pad still be a pad.
