Deluxe Outdoor Rug Pad
Natural and synthetic rubber over a polyester knitted scrim, in an open weave that lets air and water pass straight through. That is the whole point of it. Water does not pool, the rug underside dries, and mold and mildew have nothing to sit in.

Is this the right pad for you?
✓Choose this one if
- The rug lives outdoors. A deck, a patio, a covered porch.
- The room gets damp. Basements, sunrooms, entryways, anywhere wet shoes land.
- You want something that dries rather than something that holds water.
- You want easier cleaning. The open weave means you can vacuum through it.
→Choose a different one if
- The floor has radiant heat underneath it. Never this pad. Sustained heat can soften the rubber. Use the Superior or the All-Purpose there.
- You want cushion underfoot. This pad is built to breathe, not to pad. The Premium is the cushion one.
- It is going over carpet. That is the All-Purpose, fiber side down.
Where it works
Outdoors, and every indoor hard floor too. The one place it must not go is over radiant heat.
Guaranteed not to damage or discolor your floor. That guarantee is on this pad specifically, and it is the reason we are comfortable putting it on a covered porch over wood.
Looking after it
Spot clean with a damp sponge and let it air dry. The open weave means it dries quickly, which is the same property that keeps mold and mildew out of it.
Trims with ordinary scissors. Outdoors, lift the rug and the pad occasionally and let the deck underneath dry out, the same as you would with anything left on a deck through a wet season.

Why we sell this one
We are a rug cleaning company first. Rugs come into our shop with the pad still stuck to the back of them: crumbling foam, adhesive gone to glue, cheap latex turned to orange powder that took the floor finish with it.
That is why we sell four pads and not forty. Felt and rubber, needled and bonded, nothing that breaks down into dust in five years. When a rug comes back to us for its next cleaning, we would rather the pad still be a pad.
Frequently asked
Tap a question to open it.
Can I use it indoors?
Yes. It works on hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile and concrete just as it does on a deck. We point people to it indoors wherever damp is the problem: basements, sunrooms, the spot inside the back door.
The one exception is radiant heated flooring. Never over that.
Why does breathable matter outdoors?
Because a solid pad traps water against the rug and the deck. Outdoor rugs get rained on. If the water cannot get out, you get mildew, a smell, and eventually damage to whatever is underneath. An open weave lets it through and lets both sides dry.
Will it hold the rug still?
Yes, rubber on both faces. It grips a deck board the same way it grips a hardwood floor. What it will not do is cushion, so do not buy it for comfort.
Can it go over radiant heat?
No. This is the one pad in our range that must stay off underfloor heating, because sustained heat can soften the rubber. Our three indoor pads are all fine over radiant heat and we have tested them on it.
What size do I order?
Order the size of your rug. We cut the pad three inches smaller in each direction, so you get an inch and a half of clearance on every side and the pad never shows.
The size guide covers measuring, odd shapes and what to do if your rug is between sizes.
How long does it take?
Every pad is cut to order, so it is made for your rug rather than pulled off a shelf. Shipping is free in the contiguous 48 states, and you have 30 days to return it.
